THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) DATE: FRIDAY, JUNE 24, 2016 TOPIC: WE NEED THE WHOLE GOSPEL! READ: ACTS 19: 1-7

In today's passage, Apostle Paul met twelve believers in Ephesus who, though they had been baptized into John's baptism of repentance, had never heard of the Holy Spirit. Paul explained the rest of the Gospel to them and they believed, and he prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit. They received the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues and prophesied. Paul never missed an opportunity to share Christ with people and he used this opportunity that presented itself perfectly, to bring twelve souls into the Kingdom.

There are many in Church today who like the twelve believers, know only bits and pieces of the Gospel. As a result, they do not have a proper understanding of what it means to be born again, or how they should live in order to reflect the new life. It is our responsibility to be Paul to them; to explain the Gospel so that they understand; to teach them to obey all that the Lord has commanded, according to the Great Commission. Like Paul, we must also keep our eyes open to opportunities to share the Gospel with those around us.

PRAYER: Lord, open our eyes to every opportunity to share the Gospel with those who do not yet understand it.
